I love Checkpoint because it makes the site feel more comfortable knowing all tours are verified prospects, deterring the riff-raff. It also lends confidence to the move in process and reduces the chance of housing those "fraud squatters", which have become more and more prevalent during the pandemic. We started using CheckpointID during the 2020 pandemic. We had a prospect from out of state that was running an application to lease at our community. At the time, we had an employee that worked at both our community and a sister property. They recognized the name as one that had declined payments for applications, and that was potential for fraud. In comparing the information, the ID’s were slightly different, and had to be false ID’s (very well-made false driver’s licenses!). In Washington State there is an Eviction Moratorium that halts the eviction proceedings during the pandemic. We knew our company was potentially in a comprisable position. If we let in the wrong people, we would have a hard time getting them out! With an increase across the country in fraud, and after having a few close calls, we decided we needed a program that would help with our verifications. We implemented using Checkpoint ID at all Washington State properties. The system is easy to use, scans ID’s quickly and efficiently, and we haven’t had one prospect decline or question the process. This adds another level of professionalism and caring to our leasing flow. My leasing staff loves the remote verification as this helps significantly with verification of out of state prospects to ease the application process. They also love that it recalls the information to assist in completing the guest cards. CheckpointID has been an important leasing tool for our company. This has given us confidence in screening during the pandemic and will continue to do so after.

We’ve been using CheckpointID for several months now at Bishop Park and are enjoying it. The app is quick & easy to access/load on our iPads, it scans the ID easily and having the ability to alert us right there on the spot if the ID is expired or with some other problem is convenient. We have also logged in to our account and thought the scanning history has been able to confirm if the ID had been previously scanned or not, which is especially helpful if one resident isn’t present at move-in.
